Just a few more days and it’s back to work. It’s both good and bad. Good because we go back to doing what we love and bad just because we get busy. That means it’s time for every welder out there to make the most out of the holiday vacation. Here’s a list of films you should watch or rewatch now. Welders in movies that would both entertain and surprise you.
Welders in movies: Films you should watch or rewatch now
Chewbacca, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
The first movie on this list is something you might have already seen – Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. While some would think, “How even could a giant Wookie with furry hands weld?” Well, he can and there’s proof. You might want to do a Star Wars movie marathon while you’re at it. Tony Stark: Iron Man (2008)
Here’s one that can make you feel like a superhero! Watch Tony Stark, played by Robert Downey Jr, as he welds and builds the first Iron Man suit that gets him out of travel and changes his whole life entirely. We’re all Iron Men and Women in a way. Own it.
Spider-man: Homecoming (2017)
Here’s something for young welders out there. Something the family can enjoy. A lot of welding action done by vulture and his guys particularly Phineas Mason who is also known as the Tinkerer.
Llewelyn Moss, No Country for Old Men (2007)
“If it can be welders, I can weld it.” – Some wise words by Llewelyn in the movie. The movie is about a Texas welder, war veteran, and hunter who discover the remains of drug runners who have killed each other in an exchange that has gone bad.
Macgyver, Macgyver (1985-1992)
Who can ever forget Macgyver? Face it. We all wanted to be like him. This resourceful hero once made a thermite welding using shavings from a magnesium racing bike, some rust from a can, and igniting using only a roadside signal flare.
Jennifer Beals, Flashdance (1983)
This is an old one but if you’re looking for a movie where the main characters are mostly welders, this is what you should have on your list. Flashdance is a movie about a woman who’s a welder by day and dancer by night. We think this is perfect for woman welders out there. Here’s to girl power!
Bettina Peterson, Cast Away
Wilson! Wilson! Who could ever forget those words? If you haven’t watched this yet, you should. The reason why the movie is on this list is that the movie actually opens with Bettina Peterson who makes welded metal sculptures.
